About us

The Baldaccio String Quartet was formed by four members of the 2008 Southbank Sinfonia, and takes its name from the main square in the Italian town of Anghiari where the players first performed together during the orchestra’s summer residency.

Since then, the quartet has performed at venues in London including the National Gallery and St James’s, Piccadilly, and has received coaching from Jenny Nickson of the Royal Opera House Orchestra and Susie Mészáros of the Chilingirian Quartet.

Plans for the future include further performances of Schönberg’s second quartet with soprano Elisabeth Toye, a return trip to Anghiari and a concert tour of China in 2011.
